TRU-Shield

Development on the licensed TRU-Shield^® family of packages has resulted in packages that can be used for radioactive material storage and transport as well as Deep Geological disposal.

TRU-Shield^® containers are uniquely designed for the storage and road, rail and air transport of Industrial Type 2 and Type A radioactive materials and provide a high degree of security. Whilst the TS-141 series has been purpose designed for disposal in the UK.

Designed in the USA and, manufactured under license & supplied in North America in accordance with ISO 9001 and 14001 for worldwide supply.

The TRU-Shield^®  series 110 and 141 are TSR-1 certified packages for the transport of TYPE A radioactive materials.

Over 1800 units units have been deployed over the past 10 years.

In Jun 2025 PDS-MMM licensed Skolnik USA as the exclusive manufacturer and representaive for TRU-Shield in North America 

The TRU-Shield® container is engineered specifically for transuranic waste (TRU). Built from high-strength stainless steel, TRU-Shield® is corrosion-resistant and designed to withstand the toughest conditions for long-term nuclear waste storage and safe transport.
